Twilight Christmas Markets & Fireworks- Brunswick Heads
In the quaint town of Brunswick Heads, only a short 20 min drive from the heart of Byron Bay, the Twilight Christmas Market will be taking place on Wednesday 13th December from 3 pm to 10 pm. It’s an evening of outdoor market shopping, delicious food, rides for the kids, entertainment and a fun, festive atmosphere. Christmas tree lighting commences at 8 pm (on the Banner Park riverbank) and the spectacular family fireworks from 9 pm are always a hit!
Summer evenings are warm and often best spent somewhere with a cool ocean breeze. Pack a picnic or let Helen from Cape Byron Platters do the work for you with her stunning, locally sourced platters. Head to the closest beach for a beautiful evening spent watching the waves roll in. Anywhere from Belongil to Watego’s is an ideal place for an evening picnic and watching the sunset in spectacular colours over the Mount Warning Hinterland. Byron Bay Main Beach also often have music and entertainment to enjoy while you relax.
Dedicating an entire day to exploring Minyon Falls is a must-do while in the Byron Bay area. The 13km round trip is quite the distance, but with plenty of water, food and good shoes, you won’t even notice it. The days are hot, but among the shelter in the rainforest, it’s easy to feel completely removed from civilisation. Minyon Falls is a spectacular site and will offer you a place for a cool dip when you reach the bottom on a hot summers day.
Bangalow Designers Market
The town of Bangalow is located in the Byron Bay Hinterland, a 20 min scenic drive from Byron Bay. There are plenty of shops and cafes to stop at in Bangalow and on Saturday the 9th of December, you can enjoy the Bangalow Designers’ Market showcasing the best of local fashion, arts and crafts, food and music. It’s a fantastic event to schedule into the itinerary, especially prior to Christmas, where you’re likely to pick up some beautiful handmade gifts.
